Replacement power supply electrolytic
for tube amps |
I have restarted the manufacture of electrolytic power supply capacitors for Dynaco MkIII. It has become difficult to find a good replacement when the old cap gives in. This as it is supposed to handle 525V and consists of 4 caps in one.
Roughly 10 years ago I made a replacement capacitor with components from Rifa. Now it is available again.
With 4x50µF, Us=525V it gives new life to your MkIII (and many other tube amps for that matter).
As it is a bit bigger (and more powerful) than the original a heat shield is necessary between the capacitor and the power tubes. A mounting ring is also necessary.
The capacitor can be mounted in the same place as the original and no the protective cover can be used without modification.
As this product has been sold in a large numbers throughout the years, and the oldest ones have been functioning perfectly for 10 years, I know that the amplifiers work perfectly with these larger capacitors.
I have had no complaints over this long period of time. All comments has been positive!
