| Reflected light disrupt the sound.
|
Even high-end equipment for the very highest demands is powerless against scattered light in CDs.

Laser Beams are reflected numerous times and the light stray this way and that over the CD's surfaces.

This audibly affects the reproduction. The sound loses its clarity and transparency.

The Beam diffusion cannot be avoided by error correction.

| Does green or black work best?
|
A hot tip in audio expert circles is the colouring the CD's edge with a felt tip pen, to absorb the scattered light .

The effect unfortunately doesn't deliver on it's promise.

Green is a complementary colour to the red laser and should bring better results. However, this is often not the case as many lasers work with the infra-red spectrum.

|
In exhaustive tests biochemist Dr. Erich Schrott and engineer Wolfgang Schneider have looked for ways to eliminate the disruptive reflections.

They found an amazingly simple, yet highly effective, tuning method...
The CD's outer edge is bevelled and works as a trap for the scattered light .

Black colouring absorbs additional misrouted laser light.

An edge angle of 36° audibly brings the best results.

Voices from the press and customers
Stereo (Matthias Böde): We tried the machine out in front of an audience by grinding the edges of CDs which we had previously listened to. It was practically unbelievable how relaxed, more detailed and cleaner the music was after the CDs treatment.

Stereo: CD–grind the edge and/or colour that edge: never again a CD without ground edges.

Stereo in the course of a workshop: The improvement in sound quality thanks to the CD. Grinder from Audiodesksysteme was accompanied by virtual gasps of amazement from those listening. The sound improvement was considerable. The bass and stereophonics of the digital copy became audibly more structured and sharper.

HIFI & Records: The result was a surprisingly clearer, more transparent, more stereophonic, more tone, less digital sound. Even sceptics agree that the sound is different.

Image HIFI: After several tests the sound improvements I experienced were quite clear.

Hörerlebnis: The differences are not minimal but can be heard in all dimensions.

Hifi Zirkel: More detectable, richer tones are more authentic without the need for further analysis or nervousness.

Stereophile USA: More detail, a better sense of space.

HI-FI NEWS USA & RECORD REVIEW: It makes your CDs `truer`.

Verifiable customer comments regarding improved sound after CD treatment:
A more stereophonic sound, sounds almost analogue, the best sound one can get from a CD, superb value for money, a more precise sound, greatly enhanced sound, a more detectable sound, a listening joy, the sound improvement is incredible, a world of difference, reproduction is far cleaner.
